Original WW2 Dutch Liberation Photoalbum - Liberation of Zeist by the 49th West Riding Division (Polar Bears), Holland (1945)
This is a very interesting photo album of the liberation of Zeist, The Netherlands in May 1945. It shows a total of 22 pictures (14 x 9 cm each) of the Allied soldiers, mostly 49th West Riding Division ''Polar Bears'' and Canadian troops entering Zeist. The civilians are celebrating as the Allied troops drive in. There are also some pictures of the NSB office of Zeist (1e Dorpsstraat) being looted by the civilians.
There is also a picture of Slot Zeist. During the war, the Ortskommandantur confiscated Slot Zeist. On the night of the 8th to the 9th of February German soldiers accidentally set fire to the left side of the building. Just after the war, the Slot was used to imprison collaborators. After a while the Canadian Entertainment Committee used the building.

Dit is een zeer interessant fotoalbum van de bevrijding van Zeist, Nederland in mei 1945. Het toont in totaal 22 foto's (elk 14 x 9 cm). Op veel fotos zijn de geallieerde soldaten, voornamelijk 49th West Riding Division ''Polar Bears'' en Canadese troepen te zien die Zeist binnentrekken. De burgers vieren feest terwijl de geallieerde troepen binnenrijden. Ook zijn er enkele foto's van het NSB-kantoor van Zeist (1e Dorpsstraat) dat door de burgers wordt geplunderd.
Er is ook een foto van Slot Zeist. Tijdens de oorlog nam de Ortskommandantur Slot Zeist in beslag. In de nacht van 8 op 9 februari staken Duitse soldaten per ongeluk de linkerkant van het gebouw in brand. Vlak na de oorlog werd het Slot gebruikt om collaborateurs gevangen te zetten. Na een tijdje nam de Canadian Entertainment Committee het gebouw in gebruik.
