Original WW2 German NOD Pressphoto - Dutch Opbouwdienst, predecessor of the NAD (1940)

German press picture of the Nederlandsche Opbouwdienst, this is the predecessor of the NAD (Nederlandsche Arbeidsdienst). The Opbouwdienst consisted of Dutch soldiers who had been demobilized. They wore their Dutch uniforms with white pieces of cloth stitched on the left arm, as seen in the picture. The Opbouwdienst was not directly a national-socialist organisation, but they worked under the nazi-occupier in the Netherlands. The iconic NAD shovels can be seen in this picture.

Duitse persfoto van de Nederlandsche Opbouwdienst, de voorloper van de NAD (Nederlandsche Arbeidsdienst). De Opbouwdienst bestond uit gedemobiliseerde Nederlandse militairen. Ze droegen hun Nederlandse uniformen met witte lapjes stof op de linkerarm gestikt, zoals te zien is op de foto. De Opbouwdienst was geen nationale-socialistische organisatie, maar werkte wel onder de nazi-bezetter in Nederland. De iconische NAD scheppen zijn te zien op de foto.
