Rare picture of an Indian volunteer Legion Freies Indien (Azad Hind) celebration in Berlin. These Indian troops were recruited against the British colonial empire, which controlled India at the time. Their unit was stationed in the Netherlands (Zandvoort, Texel, and Oldebroek) and was moved to France in 1943 to have more units present at the Atlantikwall there. They were stationed in the Bordeaux region. They go under the Legion Freies Indien, or the Tiger Legion, and also under Azad Hind Fauj.

The label was put on with tape. The picture has some scratches that are visible in the light.

Zeldzame foto van een viering van de Indiase vrijwilligers van het Legion Freies Indien (Azad Hind) in Berlijn. Deze Indiase troepen werden gerekruteerd tegen het Britse koloniale rijk, dat destijds India beheerste. Hun eenheid was gestationeerd in Nederland (Zandvoort, Texel en Oldebroek) en werd in 1943 naar Frankrijk verplaatst om daar meer eenheden bij de Atlantikwall te kunnen huisvesten. Ze waren gestationeerd in de regio Bordeaux. Ze vallen onder het Legion Freies Indien, of het Tiger Legion, en ook onder Azad Hind Fauj.
