Shell gas station at the Hugo de Grootplein, Dordrecht. At this location, four Dutch military soldiers lost their lives on the 12th of May 1940. According to documentation, the Motorhuzaren went here and got caught in German machinegun fire from a position 250 meters further.

The names of the four men who lost their lives on this road are G. Spandonk, A. D. van der Kuijl, J. M. Lamboo, and J. Snijders.

This picture shows the heavily shot-up Shell Gas station, with left-behind motorcycles, and in the foreground, two KIA Dutch huzaren motorrijders.

Shell-tankstation aan het Hugo de Grootplein in Dordrecht. Op deze locatie verloren vier Nederlandse militairen op 12 mei 1940 hun leven. Volgens documenten reden de Motorhuzaren hierheen en werden ze onder Duits machinegeweervuur genomen vanuit een positie op 250 meter afstand.

De namen van de vier mannen die op deze weg om het leven kwamen, zijn G. Spandonk, A. D. van der Kuijl, J. M. Lamboo en J. Snijders.

Deze foto toont het zwaar beschoten Shell-tankstation, met achtergelaten motorfietsen, en op de voorgrond twee KIA Dutch Huzaren motorrijders.
