Shell gas station at the Hugo de Grootplein, Dordrecht. At this location, four Dutch military soldiers lost their lives on the 12th of May 1940. According to documentation, the Motorhuzaren went here and got caught in German machinegun fire from a position 250 meters further.
The names of the four men who lost their lives on this road are G. Spandonk, A. D. van der Kuijl, J. M. Lamboo, and J. Snijders.
This picture shows the heavily shot-up Shell Gas station, with left-behind motorcycles, and in the foreground, two KIA Dutch huzaren motorrijders.
