Deze publicatie is een afstudeeronderzoek van de Universiteit Utrecht en behandelt de invloed van Vliegveld Deelen op de omgeving. De studie onderzoekt hoe het vliegveld de aanwezigheid en ontwikkeling van cultuurhistorische landschapselementen in het gebied rondom Deelen heeft beïnvloed.

Vanuit de sociale geografie en planologie, met als bijvak historische geografie, wordt gekeken naar de ruimtelijke en historische impact van het militaire gebruik. Daarbij staat de vraag centraal of het vliegveld vooral als last of juist als waardevolle toevoeging aan het landschap wordt ervaren.

Het onderzoek werd uitgevoerd onder begeleiding van dr. J. Renes en afgerond in maart 2004.
