Sybren Tulp was the head of police in Amsterdam. He was very pro-nazi and helped the SS capture and deport the Jews. He died in October of 1942 of disease. After his death Rauter named a Dutch police batallion after Tulp, also the complex that they were stationed was called the Tulp-Kazerne.

Sybren Tulp was het hoofd van de politie in Amsterdam. Hij was zeer pro-nazi en hielp de SS bij de arrestatie en deportatie van Joden. Hij overleed in oktober 1942 aan een ziekte. Na zijn dood noemde Rauter een Nederlands politiebatallion naar Tulp, en het complex waar ze gestationeerd waren, werd ook wel de Tulp-Kazerne genoemd.
